About this place
At lunchtime, the choice is between a set of about seven pieces or a selection of your favourite toppings. One diner at Koda Sushi ordered the sushi set, which came with seven pieces—tuna, salmon, octopus, eel, flounder, prawn and squid—along with a small side dish and fish red miso soup. On another visit, they tried a set that lets you choose the sushi yourself. The menu lists this nigiri set, selected from a dedicated order sheet, at ¥2,300; individual pieces start at ¥300. Choose the set for the pleasure of making your own selection, or the sushi set for a classic combination.
A diner who had lunch at the counter enjoyed a jumbo nigiri set while watching the sushi being made. The set included seven pieces of sushi and red miso soup. The toppings seemed generously thick, and the egg came in two pieces. Eel was a particular favourite: the diner recalled its slightly crisp skin and a pleasant bitterness reminiscent of char.
There are several rolls to choose from, too. The seafood roll contains salmon, tuna, cucumber and egg. The menu also lists maki with Date-style omelette, koya tofu, kanpyo and mitsuba, as well as a premium roll with ingredients including shiitake, prawn, oboro and eel. Rolls can accompany nigiri, or take centre stage themselves.
